Israel Attacks Iranian Base (12/2/2017)

  israeli air strike 2

Overnight, Israel attacked the Iranian base I mentioned in yesterday's post. The following is a quote from the Haaretz news website in Israel:

"Israeli warplanes struck a military base near the Syrian capital of Damascus overnight Friday, Syrian state television has confirmed.

"According to pro-Assad news outlets, the target of the attack was an Iranian military base near the city of Al-Kiswa, located some 13 kilometers south of Damascus."

According to the Jerusalem Post, missiles fired from Israeli warplanes hit an ammunitions warehouse on the Iranian military base. Some reports say that Israel also used surface to air missiles in the attack.

So far, there has been no response from Iran and its close allies to the strike, which may be more of a warning to Iran of a larger strike if they keep building their military base so close the border of Israel.

Why would Iran build such a base anyway if their intention was not to use it to invade Israel in the future?

This is just another sign pointing to the rising tensions in the region. It shows that these nations may be headed toward the battle of Ezekiel 38-39 unless there is a significant change of direction, although that seems highly unlikely.
